When I was 15 years old I picked up a video camera for the first time to make a backyard movie with my friends. I was obsessed with the magic we could create on screen using in camera and editing effects. I spent countless hours with my friends telling ridiculous stories and creating the cheesiest of visual effects, but believe me, we thought we were going to be the next directors of Star Wars.
After 10 years of chasing my passion, the love I have for telling stories has only grown stronger. I've discovered that I love to tell stories about real people, living their real lives. Stories that educate and inspire others to create change. I love to dream up the big projects that seem out of reach. And while there will always be a place in my heart for the worlds that we get to create from scratch, there is nothing more powerful than connecting with a REAL person on screen while their story is being told.
There is no greater honor in this world than being allowed to take one's story and tell it. It requires patience, trust, and persistence, but I believe the reward is always worth the endeavor.
